friend (fr^end)
1. A person whom one knows, likes, and trusts.
2. A person whom one knows; an acquaintance.
3. A person with whom one is allied in a struggle or cause; a comrade.
Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating the following on a consistent basis:
• The tendency to desire what is best for the other
• Sympathy and empathy
• Honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth, especially in terms of pointing out the perceived faults of one's counterpart
• Mutual understanding and compassion
• Trust in one another (able to express feelings - including in relation to the other's actions - without the fear of being judged); able to go to each other for emotional support
• Positive reciprocity - a relationship is based on equal give and take between the two parties.
Dear friend, you have walked through life’s storms with great integrity, honesty, patience and love, and, by God’s grace, have demonstrated a commitment to Him that has been unshakeable. I love you dear friend, you are beautiful, inside and out, and I am so blessed to call you my friend.
that is so lovely it hurts my little heart.

Today's friendship quote from my desk calendar:
ReplyDeleteWe cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over' ~ Samuel Johnson
I love you my dear friend ~xxx~
